On the 8th we did a chicken wing dissections.
The aim of this experiment was visualise what we have learned about in science. We aimed to slowly unravel some of the things that we have been learning about.
equipement;
scissors, gloves, seekers, paper.
Method:
first we took of the skin of the chicken, this process was done carefully not to damage the muscles and tendons. Then we ripped if the muscles exposing the bones. There we looked at the bones and the joints and the tendons that connect the muscle to the bones. We also looked at the joints. This latter lead into a different activity regarding the movement and the compression of the tissues to allowes us to move.
Results:
I can’t insert images into edublogs, it sucks
discussion:
The arm is made out a the humerus, radius, ulna, carpals, metacarpals, phalanges. The joints are on the ends of the bones, these are covered by cartilage, the bones are connected via tissues. These also hold in the liquid which is like oil. This helps it move smoothly. If this liquid and the cartilage are gone that condition is called arthritis. Then there are the muscles which are connected to the bones via ligaments. Then there is the skin that is connected to the muscles and are the outside protective layer.
