1. Identify the different ingredients you used to create colour and how they enhance the overall appearance of your burger.
I used lettuce, onion rings, veggies in the patty, cheese, and sauce to enhance the appearance of my burger, as they add colour and make it more appetising for someone to eat and they enhance the flavour by all the different flavours included also enhancing the texture as different ingredients would give it a crunch and others would be melted.
2. What ingredients did you include in your burger to create texture, and what was the effect on the product as you ate it?
We added carrots in the patty and onion rings, which created crunch in it, which was good as it gave it a different mixed texture with the soft patty and crunchy onions. I also added cheese, which was melting, that was soft and stretchy, which gave it a nice cheese pull.
3. Name two different ingredients you used to enhance the flavour of your meat patty.
Spicy Peri Peri Mayonnaise and Onions
4. Explain why you used these flavours? Eg pairing that goes together like mustard and hot dogs.
As the sauce gave it a nice kick, and the onions were something crunchy to go with it, so it got enhanced to a softish texture,e which was palatable
5. What were you hoping the people eating your burger to experience – think sensory words.
I was hoping for them to taste the spices used, and the different textures used, such as the crunch of the onion, the cheese that was melted, and the soft bun.
6. What were your successes with your final presentation?
I liked how we stacked it as the lettuce and cheese gave it a bunch of colour & flavour. Also, I really liked the outcome of our patty that was filled with spices and different vegetables inside
7. If you were to do this practical again, what changes would you make if you had no restrictions?
I would add different stuff, such as eggs, bacon, and truffles.
