-What makes each island’s culture different is how they share their dance and songs. Some tales will be the same but will be sung differently.
- Why is family important in Pacific communities?
-The way family shows importance is that the elderly get treated better and that your community comes before you.
- What kinds of art or celebration do people use to show their culture?-the way the people of the pacific show art and celebration AND culture is through dance and stories.
- How do people in the Pacific work together in daily life?
-the people of the pacific work together by telling youth that the community comes first.
- What do you think is special about island communities?
What’s so special about the island communities is how they tell stories,songs and what they teach to young. My reasoning is that they are shown how to express their culture appropriately and respectfully.
- How do young people help keep traditions alive?
The Pacific communities are still working very hard to keep their traditions alive. Young people are learning old songs and dances.
- What are some ways schools or families teach culture?
Some ways schools and families teach young people is by song dance and different chants
- If you could visit one Pacific Island, where would you go and why?
-If I could visit one island I would choose Fiji in Melanesia because it has very cool locations and super nice water.
