In science, I learned about how to balance the Land yacht & we need to understand how to apply the principle of physics and particularly those related to forces , energy and motion.
Here are some points I did on my land yacht:-
1. Investigating forces and motion
2. Understanding energy transfer
3. Exploring air resistance
4. Optimizing Design
5. Developing problem solving
Equipment :-
Equipment I used for my land yacht such as Tape , Scissors , Cardboard , bamboo sticks , trolley , skewers and newspaper.
METHOD :- we got equipment’s from mr such as Tape , Scissors , Cardboard , bamboo sticks , trolley , skewers and newspaper
RESULT :-
Include = Distance / Time = Speed
= 8.0/5.03 = 1.59s
The speed of the land yacht was 1.59 & our highest speed was 1.90
DISCUSSION
1. What are the forcing acting on your wind racers?
Ans : The forces i applied in my land yacht such us Gravity , Normal force , friction , Air resistance , Thrust and lift etc
2. Are they balanced/ unbalanced?
Ans Yes, my land yacht was balanced because we were using newspaper and bamboo stick to balance it.
3. What is net force and how does this relate to the forces acting on your wind racer?
Ans Net force = Sum of all forces acting on an object
Balanced Forces mean that the opposing forces are the same size because of this, these forces cancel out. This gives us zero net forces
Unbalanced forces mean that the opposing forces aren’t the same size. because of this, there forces don’t cancel out. This gives us a net forces
4. What are the strength of forces acting on it at different stages?
Ans = The strength of forces in wind races varies with speed and direction, involving the pressure gradient force, Coriolis force, and friction.
5. How do the forces acting on the wind racer affect the motion of the wind racer at different points?
Ans = Forces like thrust, drag, and friction dictate the wind racer’s acceleration, constant speed, turning, and stopping by creating unbalanced or balanced net forces.
6. Why do you think results may vary in the class?
Ans = By learning style
CONCLUSION
How was your wind racer successful/unsuccessful and why?
Ans = My land yacht was successful because my land yacht distance was 8.0 and my time was 5.03 & my speed was D/T = 8.0/5.03= 1.53speed. My group was second in fastest one, but we got first position in creativity.
How could you improve it?
I can improve it by studying about experiment or i can take some ideas from my teacher and friends
