This week we learned a big word in our Inquiry topic: photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is how plants use sunlight make food. We also learned that plants take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, while people breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. It blew our minds to think about how much plants and people help each other!

The big even of the week was our cross country. Everyone participated and did their best. It was great to see everyone joining in.

Permission slips have been coming in for our upcoming trip to the Botanical Gardens. If possible, it would be good to bring an empty yoghurt container on the day so that we can each plant a seed.

Our Student of the Week for Week 7 was Leighton. Well done, Leighton. We’re sure that Tama is going to enjoy his weekend with you and your whānau.
