Making our film was such a cool experience, an awesome chance for us to really dive into what life in New Zealand is all about. We wanted to show the culture, the beautiful landmarks, and all those classic Kiwi symbols that make this country truly special. Everyone had a part to play, and together we brought the story to life in our own unique ways. Aumaarire did a great job sharing interesting stories about some of the well-known landmarks, adding a real sense of history and pride to the film. I focused on the Kiwi bird and other iconic symbols that are close to the heart of many Kiwis. Nyla also covered some important icons, which added a nice layer of variety and made the film feel more complete.
The whole process was a mix of highs and lows. It was super exciting when ideas started coming together and we began filming, but there were also times when it felt tricky to organize everything or get it all to fit just right. We had to figure out how to make all our parts flow smoothly into one story, which took patience and teamwork. Throughout all this, Temaioha was incredible as the main editor, patiently piecing everything together with creativity and care. Even though Temaioha took the lead on the editing, it was all definitely a team effort. We all helped out by sharing ideas, giving feedback, and pitching in wherever we could to make the film the best it could be.
This project wasn’t just about making a film, it taught us a lot about working as a team. We learned how important communication is and how combining everyone’s strengths can create something really meaningful. At the end of the day, it was really rewarding to see how our different contributions came together to tell a story that truly reflects the spirit of New Zealand, Its landmarks, its icons, and the feelings we all share about this place we call home. This experience brought us closer as a group, helped us build new skills, and left us with a deeper appreciation for the country we live in. It’s definitely something we’re all proud to have worked on together.
