Our tamariki are having a fantastic time taking part in fun and meaningful challenges to celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2025 – “Ake ake ake – A Forever Language”.
Ngā mahi i tēnei wiki / Activities this week:
Hoahoa i tō ake moko / Design your own moko – expressing identity and creativity.
Whakaahua waiata me karakia / Recite waiata and karakia – celebrating the songs and prayers
Whakamātauria ngā tae / Name the colours – learning colours in te reo Māori.
Ngā rā me ngā marama / Days and months – practising the Māori names for days of the week and months of the year.
Kupu Māori hou / Māori vocabulary – using new Māori words in everyday classroom conversations.
It’s been amazing to see our tamariki’s creativity, enthusiasm, and pride in learning. The week isn’t over yet, and we can’t wait to see what exciting activities the remaining days will bring!
Ka mau te wehi, tamariki mā!
Keep celebrating te reo Māori – a language to treasure, now and ake ake ake!
