Week 10

And that is Term 3 finished! This week we proudly celebrated Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori. This marks the 50th year that the Māori language has been celebrated. We have taken part in challenges such as saying the longest place name in the world (Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu!) and designing our own korowai cloak, which was modelled by Zavier in the whole school assembly. We also enjoyed both the junior and the senior Homai’s Got Talent shows. Well done to Adisree, Harlem, Mya, Trisha, Azyla, Nur-Shafiqah, and Shazneen, who all performed on Wednesday. Ka Rawe!

We’ve been playing some games outside and especially love playing “Cats and Rats”. We’ve also been doing some Art this week. We got creative with air dry clay and also explored the use of primary colours, geometry, and measurement by creating some Piet Mondrian-inspired Art.

And guess which class won the top attendance out of the whole school again? This week was the THIRD time Room 7 has won this award this term! We all got to enjoy popcorn and iceblocks before wrapping up the last day of the term. Thank you whānau for supporting your children’s learning by sending them to school every day.

Have a lovely break everyone. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all again in Term 4!
