Today Matua Richard visited Kotare for our inquiry Te Moana.We were learning about Shorebirds. New Zealand’s Shorebirds are not doing so well. They have lots of predators,and humans are damaging their habitats.Baby Shorebirds have to get their food themselves from the moment they hatch.Their eggs are camouflaged and their est are not protected. We got to design and build our own shorebirds nest.Here is a photo.
We got to pick a Group with 3 or 4 people.The people I chose was Dylan ,Nia, Zavianah.We put lots of defence Items. We had a stick wall, and then we had a river around the nest so that the predators cant get in. We also added some hay for extra protection.
