Red Zone

Hi everyone! Today’s blog I’m going to be talking about the Zones Of Regulations but were only focusing about one of them and it’s the red zone.

The zones of Regulation are a way to understand how we’re feeling and why we act the way we do. There are four Zones blue, yellow, green and red. Each colour represents a type of emotion and the way we act.

What is it like to be in the Red Zone:

The Red Zone is when your emotions are really strong or like super intense with causes you to feel really mad, angry, frustrated, scared, sad, or even out of control.

When your in the Red Zone your body might react to your hearts beats fast. This can cause your face to be hot, or you want to yell, cry, run away. It’s simply not a bad zone its just a form of showing your emotions. But it can be hard to make good decisions when you’re in there.

What are some things you could do to calm down while you’re in the Red Zone:

If you are in the red zone, the best thing you can do is try to calm yourself down before things get worse. Here are some things that might help.

  • Take a deep long breath and then blow out slowly and steady.
  • Ask for a break if you need space.
  • Get all fingers in front of you and breathe in and breathe out closing your fingers one by one until you reach ten.
  • Talk to a trusted someone about your situation and how your feeling.

Everyone’s different in their own ways and if those tips didn’t help you than that’s okay. The goal is to find what helps you cool down.

That’s all for today everybody have a great day!
