Hello bloggers,
Today I am going to be telling you my reading comp questions for this week. I will be doing it first because we didn’t have our create tasks for this week. The book that we are reading about is called “Sharks”. Definition of Shark, is a large, long marine fish with a cartilaginous skeleton, a prominent dorsal fin, and scales shaped like tooth’s. Most sharks are predatory, But the largest kinds feed on plankton, and some can grow up to a very large size.
Day 1 comprehension questions
- The smallest shark species is the “Dwarf Lantern shark”, which has an average length of about 17.5 to 20 cm when it is fully grown.

- Sharks want less friction to conserve energy, swim faster, and move more quietly for hunting and long-distance migration.

- The word endemic means, Only found in one place. According to the journal.

Day 2 comprehension questions
- There are three more under the Rig shark, The Chimaera, Eagle ray and, Pygmy shark.
- The main differences between the 2 is that the eagle ray has a more triangular shape, long pointed fins, and swims by “flying” through the water column, while stingrays are more rounded, bottom-dwelling creatures that ripple their fins to swim and have a short, thick tail with a venomous barb.
- Yes I think it is very helpful for eagle rays and rig sharks to have their mouths on the underside of their heads. This anatomical feature is a crucial evolutionary adaptation for their specific feeding strategies as bottom feeders (benthic predators).
Day 3 comprehension questions
- originates from the ancient Greek word khimaira (Χίμαιρα), which literally means “she-goat”.
- I learned about sharks.
