Why Games? – Week 8 – Term 4

Hey bloggers,

Today me and my class and I aren’t doing plays, so we’re going to do these questions and you will learn a new game! Let me explain the effect of games in Drama. The game I chose is ‘Penguin’, this is a fun game for a lot of people and lots of moving.

Explain the PURPOSE of the aspect in this context? (The purpose of this game is?)

The purpose of penguin is that we can get used to being with a lot of people and being prepared for a long show or play but it’s really fun.

How to play ‘Penguin’?

If you want to play penguin, let me tell you how to play! First you need some people to play with maybe 6 or more. Then you set up chairs depending on the amount of people you have for example 7 people you will need 7 chairs. There is one penguin and everyone must be sitting on the chair and there is a 7 people and 7 chairs the penguin must sit on a chair but you have you move around so the penguin can’t sit and if you get up from your chair you can’t sit back down so then you’re the penguin and start the whole game again.

Why do we play games in Drama?

We play games in Drama because it’s a quick warm up and the drama games are really fun. We also play games in drama to boost our creativity, confidence and be more social so we don’t get shy or stage fright.
