Why did the farmers trap the Iron man except talking to him?
One way to explain it is that Hogarth and the other farmers had enough of the Iron man,but they went a little too far with it. All the farmers were annoyed because of the Iron man crushing and eating all of their belongings, and the farmers were not happy about that,so they decided to set up a trap to trap the Iron man. But instead of talking to the Iron man, they trapped him in a gigantic hole.
The farmers probably didn’t know that this would hurt anybody, and it did hurt someone. The Iron man. The Iron man was just stuck there, and the farmers did not try a bit to help the Iron man. And i think its because the farmers were too scared to talk to the Iron man because he was about thirty times their size! The Iron man is gigantic to them,so they were not brave enough to talk to him.
In chapter three, who do i think has more power? The Iron man,or the farmers
Both, the Iron man,and the farmers have the power and control in way different ways! Let’s start with the farmers power.
The farmers have a good control of things, like how they trapped the Iron man. And there is more farmers then the Iron man, Which means they have a little advantage of teamwork power. The farmers can work together, but the Iron man cant because none of the farmers think he’s trustworthy, and there is not multiple Iron men
Now the Iron man’s power. The Iron man has a little more power and control then the farmers because the Iron man is humongous! He can squish all of them like there tiny little ants. And the farmers cannot squish the Iron man.
How does Ted Hughes explain that humans treat each other badly by saying their different?
So,at first, the farmers were being rude to the Iron man because he was way different to the farmers. And treating someone like that is horrible.
Imagine if you were just walking around one day,and you called someone different in a rude way,and then the next day, someone did that to you? How would you feel about that? Not good, probably. So,you should of learnt that if you call someone different, they will get you back.
And treating the people that are different goodly might be hard, but at least try to treat them well!
And the moral, don’t judge someone if they are different to everybody else!
In chapter three,This is what i think why Ted Hughes made Iron man both scary, and sympathetic.
So,the Iron man is scary, but he feels a lot of emotions, too. But some people just didn’t know the emotion part in the book. Not much people thought that the Iron man could be actually friendly. Yes, the Iron man is gigantic, but he can be friendly in ways. Like when he was following the farmers to the place with lots of scraps of metal,he didn’t attack anyone,he just waited patiently, and didn’t do anything wrong.
