Wearable arts show

Hi on Thursday night and Friday morning we had the wearable arts show I had to say the speech and my friend my groups model.

The audience reacted normal and the where whispering not sure how we feel about that.

If I had to pick a favourite costume other than ours It would probably be Slice of hevan it looked really nice and I like how the crocheted the fruit for details

I don’t think we would have done anything different because I feel like we did a really good job and used the materials we wanted.

My group is am proud of all of are work and I think we should be

Wearable Arts Kapahaka 🖤🤍❤

Hello me and my class have been doing wearable Arts so here we go and I did not go last night so i’m going to talk about how the modeling went today. First my speech was good I was nervous at first but when I did it I felt good. the audience was good they clapped and smiled. my personal favourite was Mille browns I loved her korowai and how it represented her self her whakapapa and her tupuna

and how the black dress was inspired by Hana Rawhiti maypi Clarke.

To be honest no I got nothing to change so yep.

The most thing I’m proud of is that Zahlia handle and did it all by herself and accomplished it.

The Busy Sunbeam

The Busy Sunbeam

The sunbeam knocked on the snail’s front door.

‘Open!’ it cried,  ‘for it’s spring once more!

Put out your horns and your little grey head,

And hurry away to the wallflower bed.’

Then the sunbeam went to a mossy stone,

For sleeping there was a toad alone.

It tickled his ribs with a warm little hand,

And sang, Wake up,  for the sunshine’s grand!

Then went to the pond went the sunbeam bright ,

And called to the frogs that slept out of sight,

ome out of the mud,  give your legs  a shake,

For spring is here, and it’s time to awake!

It woke the squirrel,

it woke the bee, it found snakes in the hollow tree,

It tickled the dormouse- then it lay.

Warming my crocruses all the day!

Survey – ESOL (Last Project)

In the past week, our ESOL teacher assigned us a survey to conduct around the school. We were required to survey 50 people, but since one of our group members was absent, we only needed to survey 40. Each group member was responsible for asking 10 people. Our survey focused on how often students play their sport and which sport they participate in. After conducting the surveys during lunch, we gathered the data together. After we gathered our data, we made a graph about it, three graphs specifically, separated each different questions.

ESOL Refllection

My Experience on our E-SOL Survey Project:

The first week of our E-SOL project was spent planning out how we were going to do the survey, and I remember it being so overstimulating because I didn’t know what to do and was so confused. Once we finally cleared out some misunderstandings in the second week, we finally started making the questions and what the survey will look like. To be honest, along the way we kept getting even more confused, but finally we have made the survey and got it printed out. Only four survey papers were made because Renz was in the South Island. After we finished filling out the survey, it was time for the final week. We finally made our report, and it was kind of messy and all over the place. We still finished it and presented it. I think that we could have done better, but we I guess we still have put in effort.

MELIP 2 reflection/Term 4

The Activity that we did these past week is gathering information or gathering data about the topic that we chose “Future School Event Ideas”

The Learning intentions were to conduct a simple school-wide survey, write a short analytical report, deliver a clear and organise report and work in a team.

The most challenging part of the task is gathering information by asking or talking to other students, which some of our members including me found hard because we do not usually socialise with other students, and we resolved it by gathering data by asking questions to our friends or other students that we know or we are close with.

We/I learned how to confront people to talk to them to gather information and also how to compare graphs and use adjectives in graphs to describe them.

I also learned that I need to focus on presenting so I will not get distracted by random things and forget my line.

Hip-Hop-Hype!

Task Description: Malo E Lelei! As of today me and my group has presented something really cool! You can use and see with your eyes on the slideshow. It was all about music festivals! And of course we had to create our own. The only plot twist is math for every slide. While going through it you might ask “where exactly is this “math” your talking about.” Well thats the thing! While creating it we need to make sure paying is the key. Calculating to find the product/answer. We used a calculator for most of it but only cause it was hard! (reasonable I know) Well check out what we presented and picture us in your head!

MELIP2 Presentation reflection

This week (and last week) we did a presentation based on a survey we conducted.

We were instructed to create and conduct a survey to interview our fellow students here in Hornby High. After recording our responses, we put them together to create a graph, a script, and an entire presentation.

The most challenging part of this activity is organising the script and doing the presentation itself. At first, our script would constantly change who would say what. We solved this with teamwork and communication. For the presentation, I was nervous and forgot most of what i had memorised, but i pushed through and carried on with my findings.

I have learned more about conducting surveys, starting interviews, and understanding each other’s findings. I think my only mistakes were getting nervous in front of the class. Doing presentations has always been difficult for me, especially in groups and if the script wasn’t entirely written by me. But I will learn from my mistakes and I will learn how to gain more confidence in speaking in front of audiences and keeping my cool.

That is all for my reflection-blog, thank you for reading. :]

MELIP2 Reflection – Term 4

MELIP2 Reflection – Term 4

Week 7-8

During Week 7, we formed a team to create a survey about a topic we will present about. Our team members were Riamme, Lorhenz, Me, Kxianzy and Maximo. Our topic was about Future School Events. We only surveyed about 20 people.

After the survey, we started to work on transferring it digitally, making the presentation, and the script. We all were assigned with roles. I was assigned as facilitator.

We were originally going to present on Week 8,Wednesday, but unfortunately, I had to be away for two days. Now, it is Friday. We have done the presentation.

What are my comments?

I think I have a lot to improve on. While I can just go ahead and blame the fact I was indeed not ready for this presentation (especially due to the fact I did not attend school for two days), I think I was being a bit selfish about the script. I only did a few sentences, and I am positive I could be able to do more. I gave most of the script to Lorhenz and Riamme (but Riamme was willing). Maximo on the other hand was not there, so we had to improvise. I could’ve include more complicated and fitting words for the script, but my vocabulary is quite small. I do wish to change that. I also think that I could’ve done more eye contact and a more louder voice if I wasn’t nervous and overwhelmed.

Overall, I think I could’ve improved the way I presented at front.

MELIP 2 | Reflection

Hello everyone,

So our latest class project was a school survey. Pretty simple stuff: ask people things, write up what we found, then stand up with my team and tell the whole class (Melip 2) what we learned.

It was on the uniforms topic. Basically, I wandered around and got 18 people to give me their opinions about their own opinion on the uniforms. Also, my job was the Facilitator, but I ended up being the notetaker too because my teammate was away. Main things we were supposed to learn: how to conduct a simple school-wide survey, how to write a report that makes sense, how to stand up and talk about it without it being a total mess, and how to work as a team without losing it.

Now, the hardest bit? standing up and presenting. I was honestly really nervous. Box breathing saved me a bit – it actually helps with nerves.

What I learned from all this: I can make cooler templates for reports now, I got a bit sharper at analysing data, and I’m not as bad at public speaking as I thought. About hitting the learning intentions: I pretty much nailed it, except maybe for the part that was supposed to sound really clear. The report had some weird vocabulary because my teammate wrote bits of it, so my speech didn’t flow like I wanted.

One thing I learned about language: I’m actually pretty decent at using new words when I write.

Made any mistakes? Oh yeah. I spoke clearly, but I didn’t make much eye contact. Next time, I’ll practice more and try to memorise some of what I want to say, so I can look up and actually connect with the people I’m speaking to.

In real life? This is the kind of stuff that comes in handy. Whether it’s talking at someone’s birthday, maybe a wedding, or giving a little speech at a family thing – those nerves won’t get me as much now. Plus, now I know some new vocab for stats and reports, which always helps.

Overall, my group and I had achieved our goal

That’s it, really. Nothing too fancy, just what went down and what I got from it.

All about the Meerkat term 4 weeek 8 🦍🦒🦬🦛🐫🐃🐆🐅🐘 (DNMT)

Hi blogger’s today I am blogging my poster about Meerkats and I like turtles. This poster is an information report about Meerkats. It will tell you all about its Appearance, Habitat, and Diet. I will show and tell you how I did this. I did it all on Adobe express. It might be hard to see the writing but it tells you all the facts about Meerkats. (by all the facts I mean its Appearance, Habitat, and Diet) ( DNMT stands for DO NOT MIND THIS)

The first thing I had to do was write in my book an information report on all the facts. The facts are Appearance, Habitat, Diet, Behaviour, and its Adaptions. After that I went on Adobe Express and searched up poster. Then Got a savannas background because that’s where Meerkats live. Then I got some brown boxes and started writing in the boxes and I did an introduction then the first three facts.

PS I copied the DNMT from Levi P because he is an absolute legend / big brain

If you liked this blog and want some more check out Levis.

Writing All About The Meerkat T4 W8 2025. ✋🥺🤚🦍🦣🐘🦏🦬🦧🦒🐃(DNMT)

Hello bloggers I am about to blog my writing on Meerkats. The type of writing is called information reports. I will  show and tell you  how I did this piece of writing. BTW in the title DNMT stands for (Do not mind this) Oscar copied me with that if you go on his blog, you should because he is a massive legend and AKA my best friend.

The first thing I did was go on to this site and find facts about the Meerkats Appearance, Habitat, Diet, Behavior and it’s Adaption. After I had written that down, then I had to write it out in an information report in my book. After two days of writing I had to make this kind of poster thing on Adobe Express. I will show you a picture of that soon, it will be below all this writing. On the Adobe Express thing I had to like make a background and then put little boxes over top of that and then press this Opacity button and it makes it light so you can see the backround. After I did all of the stuff I said before on what it’s Appearance and stuff like that.

That is all that for today folks. So I you like this blog post please comment  on it and do not forget to comment on Oscar’s too. Peace Out Gang. 🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍
