Erebus Disaster
On the 28 of November 1979, the air New Zealand flight 901 a McDonnell Douglas DC-10 the trip was 11 hours, crashed into the side of Mount Erebus. The crash was caused by the co-pilot telling the pilot that he needs to lower the plane so his passengers can take the pictures that they paid for. As the pilot lowered the plane Mount Erebus’s snow was blending in with the white clouds so they couldn’t see if there was a mountain or not. There were 257 people and all of them died. It was an ending for all those poor innocent people. In 2019 Jacinda Ardern the prime minister apologized for the governments handling of the aftermath.
