Our Rangi team (Year 6s) are very fortunate to go sailing at the Akarana Marine Sports Centre in Auckland. This is through the New Navigators Akarana Outreach programme. We got a chance to listen to Educators talk to us about the ocean and what we can do to be Kaitiaki (guardian) of the ocean. After getting changed and morning tea, we set out in our three groups to do three different activities: knot tying, sailing Optimus boats and sailing in a big Quest boat. We had so much and would like to thank Mrs Johnson for organising this for us. But also acknowledging: Kim, Emma and the team for taking such good care of us today. Check out video here.
