Mapping the World (Week 1)
We have moved into a new topic for Social Science, called Geography of Disease. For the task, we had to make a key for diseases we were putting on a map, plot all of the diseases on the map, draw a line going through the map to separate the Global North and the Global South. Then we made a detectives report and analysed our findings. I learned that the Global North is the high-income nations, and the Global South is the lower-income nations. Here is my work:

Communicable Diseases (Week 1)
Now we have moved on to learning more about Communicable Diseases. I learned that Communicable Diseases are diseases that are contagious. For our task, we had to make a four slide presentation saying what the 4 pathogens are, the difference between direct and indirect transmission, state diseases that rely on animals to move and how sanitation and wealth act as barriers to pathogens. Lastly we had to do a detectives report on the transmission risk of different diseases. Here is my work:

Non-Communicable Diseases (Week 1)
We are now learning about Non-Communicable Diseases. I learned that Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are diseases that aren’t contagious and things like cancer and infections that don’t spread. For our task, we had to make a Dossier on NCDs. Firstly, we had to make a profile on the big four NCDs, then talk about their environmental impact. After that, we explained how a country like Brazil or South Africa faces a double hit to their healthcare system, and do a PQE data analysis on the 2026 data on NCDs. Lastly, we did a synthesis report with high-level evaluation questions. Here is my work:
