they originate from New Zealand they belong to the Galaxiidae family which is spread across the southern hemisphere some of them are found in Australia and part of America and Africa.they live in small streams banks and logs and they like to be covered by trees.when theirs a flood the fish swims to a edge of a stream and lay thousands of little eggs and when the flood goes away the fish stay there and grow there for up to 4 weeks
kakahi, they live in clean rivers and lakes and they prefer slow water and soft sand and shallow water surviving upto 30 years the shape of them is oval shape and there mostly dark brown or black and the size of them can get upto 13cm
