Last week on Thursday second period, my class, 9A did a eye dissection on a cow!
It was pretty disgusting but really interesting to watch as Matua Bruce guided us through the process of cutting and pulling. He cut off all the fat and tissue before cutting the off the iris, pupil and cornea and then discovering the clear egg white like lens, I squeezed the eye softly and watched the lens pop out like a push pop! I mostly just played with the lens until in pop and all the water juice ran down my hand, Matua said there was a tiny small thingy we could take out of the lens. Turns out the little tiny thing was the lens, The lens was squishy and my buddy molded it into Tung Tung Tung Sahur, if you know who that is. There was also the iris that looked like a thin black doughnut. We cut the bottom of the eye and turned it inside out, The inside was pretty, green, blue and white like the inside of a paua shell, It was smooth and squishy but there was soo much black ink stuff that drizzled down my hand! it was yucky and I smelt it and almost passed out with a heart attack…
