Yesterday we went to church to celebrate and to receive the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation. Bishop Steve Lowe was there and he wore red vestments, because it was Pentecost. Pentecost is the Church’s Birthday because it is the day when the Apostles received the Holy Spirit, which Jesus promise to send. They were filled with courage and were able to go out and tell others about Jesus in all the languages of the world. They were not afraid anymore.
Five of us in Room 6 received these special Sacraments. We felt very excited and we wore our best clothes. “Bishop Steve asked us all to go around the church and find someone we didn’t know and ask them something they knew about Jesus”, said Jackson.
Afterwards we all had a photo and then went to the hall for a scrumptious morning tea. We all feel special knowing the Holy Spirit, Te Wairua Tapu, is with us always.
