Today, Our group made a wind racer and we try to found out how long and much it travale ,by using a leaf blower because there wasnt alot of wind coming so it wouldnt work.
Our Aim was whoever get the fastest wind Racer and who is the most crative design and seeing how fast it is go.
The equipment that we use were tape, cardboard, sticks, woooden trolly, bamboo stick, strings , rubber buns ad we also use news paper to add some design to te cardboard.
Method:
- First , we cut out a large piece of cadboard like a rectangle shape.
- Second, we stuck the cardboard onto the bamboo stick and tape it.
- After, we put the bamboo stick to the wooden trolly but it doesnt fit so we have to put some sticks to the hole so it can fit.
- Then, we maked a hole in the end of the cardboard and put a rubber band so it can pull the cardboard towards the trolly.
- And Then, we attach a stick onto the rubber bands and then put it in the hole in the trolly.
- Then, we attach a string to the cardboard so we make the cardboard wider and have more air scooping it.
The result were… We didn’t win but it definitely was a good experience and it was good because we got to see what will happend if maked our one. The distance were 8.8m and the time taken were 14.2, to find our the calculation formala is D/T so which is 8.8/14.2 = 0.2 ms-1.
and this is our Wind racer.

The 4 main force were acting in our wind racer were thrust, gravity weight, friction and air resitance.
Our wind racer were unbalance because when the lift blower was on it was it was going down on the other side of the trolly instead of being balance.
Net force is to sum up all force acting on an object and which direction it will go, this relate to our wind racer because it was a lot more force in the frontt than the back so it went foward, but also the curve cardboard help it go foward, if you also sum up all the force it will be the same.
The other force was bigger tha n the other force when it started goin fowar but thne when slowing the the opposite side had the bigger force than the othe side.
When the leaf blower pointed on different side the wind racer follwed the direction of the leaf blower.
The others wind racer were further than our one because they have the right sturcture and the and they have it even side so it will go faster.
In conclustion our wind racer were unsuccessful vut it was really fun to make, Our group could of improve the weight and the make it balance and right sturcture tto make it faster and we could of make our design creative.
