Pacific Ring of Fire || Social Studies

Hi this week in social studies we’ve been learning about the Pacific Ring of Fire, I am going to be telling you about what I have learned so far and including the link to my work about the Pacific Ring of Fire.

What is the Pacific Ring of Fire?

The Pacific Ring of Fire is a 40,000 kilo-meter horseshoe shaped belt that circles the Pacific Ocean.   The Ring of Fire is driven by plate tectonics which is the Earth’s outer crust broken into massive moving slabs of rocks.   The ring traces across the coasts and islands of several different continents  as in Antarctica northward along the western coast of South America, through central America, Mexico and up the West Coast of the United States and Canada, across the Aleutian Islands, down through Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia, Eastward through island nations of the South Pacific, wrapping around to New Zealand.
