poems: week 9

In room 10 we learned about different kinds of poems. We did different poems each day.These are my work and I hope you guys like it and please leave a comment so I would know if I need to improve on anything.

ACROSTIC- An acrostic poem uses the letters of a word to begin each line. The lines describe or relate to the word.

Purpose

  • To describe a topic

  • To share ideas and feelings

  • To use interesting vocabulary

         BUSH

Bush is like a tree in the forest.

Up in the sky you can see the pink blooming flowers.

Sunlight shines into it so it could grow like it’s alive.

Heartwarming sight to see the awesome wonder of nature.

       ART

Art is a wonderful sight to see.

Really to inspire others in life when it gets hard.

Try art so you can see what it feels like if you’re an artist.

 

 

HAIKU-A haiku is a short Japanese poem that captures a moment in nature.

  • To create a picture in the
    readers mind

  • To focus on one moment

  • To celebrate nature

                                                AUTUMN

                                     Yellows, glowing leaves.

                             Striking, shining shade of gold.

                                beaming, bright flame-red.

 

 

CinquainA cinquain is a fiveline poem that follows a specific pattern.

  • To describe a person, place,
    object, or idea

  • To use carefully chosen words

  • To create a clear image

                   

                       Teamwork

                  Helpful, Caring

        Watchful, Protecting, greeting

      Caring for other in need.

               

                    Cars

          Fasts, material 

    Watching, Breeze, Loud

 A Speeding car momentum

 

 

Free verse-A free verse poem does not follow a strict pattern or rhyme scheme.

  • To express thoughts, feelings,
    and ideas

  • To paint pictures with words

To allow freedom and creativity

                                                              The lost Treasure

 

                                                           Family is a  treasure

                                          A real gem to value, with nurturing and caring

                                                         With affection and loving 

                                               As for me the treasure is hidden within.

                                                    Will they look for their treasure?

Will other people spend some time with their family because that is the treasure you need.
