During inquiry we made a Solar oven. a solar oven is a oven you can make that wont use any power but it can heat up food.
Last week we made the actual oven. Today we get to eat it, Urmi put it out facing the sun in the morning so it would heat it up by inquiry time. The chocolate melted onto the cracker and it tasted so good. I thought it looked so cool and I liked making the oven.
To make a solar oven you need to do 5/6 things. you need a box,Glue/tape, tinfoil, glad wrap,black paper and blade/ knife.
- Get a pizza box/ box.
- Cut out 3 sides of a rectangle with a knife, or blade and Smooth out tinfoil then Glue/tape it onto the bottom / facing the food so it heats up.
- Cover the hole with glad wrap to keep the sun from going out straight away.
- Stick black paper on the bottom of the box to absorb the heat.
- Put your food in and wait a few hours or a day for it to heat up.
