This week at our school we had a school cultural week. We leaned all about the different cultures and what even what their flags are. Every class had to research about their country. My class was on France. In France they speak French. In our class we also had to make a Google slide on something interesting from France. I did mine on the French fashion.
On Thursday night we had a Cultural Festival. In the festival there was lots of different foods to try out like some food from Sri Lanka, the spring roll was my favorite food there. Each class did a presentation on their country our class had to make 3d sculptures from France. We also did a Kapa Haka performance on the stage I was in it. We sang Mawhera e Thiore mai and karangatia ra. We also lit the Matariki lanterns that we made and we designed cool patterns on our lanterns but we did that at night.
Even in our school libary we celebrated cultures and countrys there was a birds eye view where you had to guess where the building and what country it was built in. And every time the lunch play bell went on the phone it was a national anthem and classes had to guess what national anthem it was.
And finally on Friday we got to dress up as different cultures but it didn’t have to be your culture. I was the French flag. That was the end of cultural week! Have you ever had a cultural week?
