For the last two weeks I have been working on my creative writing. My goal was to use a thesaurus to come up with intresting vocabluary.
Do you think I achieved my goal?

Mary darted between the trees, snatching glances of the house in the clearing. She lifted her nose and sniffed the air, there was a delicious aroma drifting off of the house.
Small clusters of glowing red flowers were scattered amongst the roots of the trees.
Mary stilled behind a tree as she heard the door open. She peeked around the edge of the tree and jolted back. There was a woman standing in the doorway looking right at her. “Hello sweetheart!” She called out, gesturing for her to come out to her.
Mary hesitated for a second before cautiously stepping out from behind the tree. The woman smiled warmly. Mary slowly approached the woman and they walked together towards the house.
“So, what brings you here?” the woman asks. Smiling down at Mary. Mary stuttered, not expecting the question. “Um,” The woman continued smiling down at Mary, expecting an answer. After an awkward second they arrived at the door.
“Welcome in. I just baked some fresh cookies, would you like some?” The woman gestured for Mary to come inside. Mary hesitated again before stepping into the little cottage.
As soon as she stepped inside she got enveloped in what felt like a huge warm hug. She snapped out of her trance suddenly as the door clicked shut behind her.
The pair walked into a warm, cosy kitchen. Mary’s eyes widened as her nose filled with the delicious aroma of freshly baked cookies. A small pile of chocolate chip cookies sat on a plate on the kitchen counter.
“Help yourself.” The woman told Mary and gestured at the plate.
Mary rushed over and stuffed a cookie into her mouth. The delicious dough melted in her mouth. Mary gobbled the whole plate down in a few minutes. She suddenly became aware that the woman was staring at her.
“Sorry,” she said through a mouthful of cookies.
The woman smiled, “It’s okay. I already have another batch baking.” Mary yawned, suddenly aware how tired she was. The woman noticed.
“Come with me, sweetheart. I have a nice warm bed for you to stay in!” Mary nodded sleepily, obediently following her into a cosy, warm bedroom. She lay down on the bed and sank down, into the warm sheets. The woman tucked her in and in seconds Mary was fast asleep.
The woman smiled down at Mary sleeping and went to sit on her chair in the corner, waiting for her to wake up.
Mary was fast asleep, stuck in dreams of cookies and strange houses in the woods. She heard a sound, it sounded like people creeping around her. At first she thought it was just in her dreams but she grew more uneasy by the second. She woke up, panting and sweaty.
The first thing she saw was the woman, sitting in the armchair in the corner of her room. The woman was staring right at her. Mary scrambled up in bed, trying to get away from the woman. She jumped up and raced out the door, trying to find a way out. She could hear footsteps pounding behind her.
Finally after what seemed like an age she found the front door. Bursting through it she started spriting towards the woods. She glanced back as she rounded the first tree, the woman was standing at the door, grinning creepily.
Mary looked forward again and decided to never come back here again.
