Last Winter Sports 🥹 🏐 ⛳

Kia Ora,

Today was a very memorable and special day for everyone at NBC. It was Mary’s last day before retirement! Hearing that she was leaving made us all feel sad, because she has always been so kind and welcoming, but I do hope she has a great, well deserved, and wonderful retirement.

Other than that today also marked the final day of Winter Sports for the senior school. At first, it didn’t really feel like it was the end, but the more I thought about it, the more memories came to mind. As the day went on, time seemed to drag. I started to get a bit impatient because I couldn’t wait to get out on the court and play.

It was finally time to leave. We packed up, arrived at the Rawhiti courts, warmed up, and jumped onto the court ready to strive for victory!

Our first game was netball against Marshlands. It was a really close match, but we managed to come away with a 9-8 win. While playing I was really messy on the court and felt a little all over the place, which was very embarrassing!! But at least I managed to get a few intercepts.

As soon as the game finished, Henry’s dad kindly drove us to the capture grounds. We were running a bit late, so we sprinted onto the field as fast as we could, quickly got ourselves ready, and started the game. We played against Rawhiti, and although they were a strong team, we worked well together and came away with another win. Overall, it was a fantastic way to finish my final Winter Sports season at New Brighton Catholic.

How did your last day of Winter Sports go?
