Last term we started our pā site. We have been learning about Defensive Fortifications.
Context: “Because land was so special and food was scarce, Hapū built Pā. These were villages with high fences (palisades) and deep ditches to keep whānau safe.”
We have learned the importance of a pā site, what a pā site has, and how we can best defend it if our site comes under attack.
We started making ours out of papier-mache. We are still at the early stages, but will be adding details soon.
