Greetings and salutations viewers, In this blog I will be discussing my experience on creating, and testing out our hand-made zip-line baskets. The main measures we had to look at is the safety and comfortability, of our mini lego characters. So get ready for this enjoyable experience of zip-lining creation.
The first step we did before creating our zip-lines, was to plan. We had a sheet of paper, and I had a ruler to measure the mini lego character we were given. The height was about 4 centi-meters and the width was 2 centi-meters, and so we gained knowledge from this by cutting 4 by 2 pieces of paper and creating two holes for the legs. But then the problem began to occur, the lego character’s legs were stuck together and couldn’t move like original lego characters. So we had to improvise and our group came up with a hot air balloon prototype basket. Like this-
Then when we got our project planned out, we grabbed all the supplies that we needed for this project, which was glue, stapler, pieces of coloured paper, and rubber band from packs of ice pop sticks. The base was planned out to be a square, but we ended up doing a circle base because it was more easier and simple. Then we stapled all the edges of the circle base, and glued the excess part to the circle base border. Then once that was finished, we got the rubber band into action, and cut the connecting portions to staple the two connections to the sides of the circle base. After so many stapling tries we finally got that tiny rubber band bit to stick on the circle border. Then we got our lego character and tested out our new zip-lining attraction, but it was slow at first and got faster by the minute. When we saw that it accelerated pretty slow in the beginning, we improvised and added pieces of tissues to add comfortability for our lego character and for the ride to be more faster, smooth, and capable of bumpy situations. Then we tested our mini zip-line once again, and the ride was smoother than our last test ride, so me and my group were happy and we celebrated. Then we all gathered together for the final test, the race. And we got to see all the other prototypes that everybody had for their mini lego character. Our ride was successful and in the end we had fun looking at all our happy faces.
In conclusion,we didn’t just build a zip-lining project, we built something worth our academic process, something that could probably help us in the future ( engineering mostly ) So after all this, I learnt something worth while this project. You cannot do something by yourself, and call it a success, true success comes from the teamwork of many.
