The Battle Of The Mountains
Long long ago Maui pulled up Te Ika Roa ā Maui. In the centre there peacefully lived warrior mountains named, Taranaki a peaceful strong mountain, Tongariro a strong jealous mountain, Pihanga a calm peaceful mountain, Tauhara and Putauaki jealous mountains, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu happy and peaceful mountains that didn’t see the rumble that was about to happen. Tongariro finally had enough he erupted with fuming rage but Pihanga didn’t want her love to be fought for then she said “ STOP you’re destroying our home but they did not listen. Taranaki was first to strike BOOM!!! He threw scorching hot boulders at Tongariro. Tongariro reacted the same way by throwing EVEN HOTTER BOULDERS AT TARANAKI. While Tongariro was distracted fighting Taranaki, Putauaki and Tauhara snuck up behind Tongariro and poured lava from their sides. Pihanga warned Tongariro and Tongariro Luckily dodge in time then ending the battle with one final blow HI-AHA. Taranaki was the most heart broken of all because he lost not only the battle but love, then Tongariro said one rule “ You shall travel as far as you can go and at dawn you shall be frozen in place FOREVER . Taranaki looked back at Pihanga then said “ I will go east to the rising sun carving a river filling it up with tears where he walked which is now called the whanganui river. Tauhara couldn’t bear to go far so he only went to the northern top of Toupo. Putauaki to the far east. Tongariro and Pihanga stand proud together to this day.
This week we have been learning about Battle of the mountains and hearing different versions even a AI version.
my favourite version is when Tongariro hits John Cena’s Attitude Adjustment
