Hello, Readers! This week we have been learning about poetry! We learned about the different language features poets use in poetry. Then we wrote free verse poems. I chose a flower because the Festival of Flowers is coming soon, so I want to enter my poem at the festival. What flower am I writing about? Read the whole poem to find out!
On a mellow June day
A bud of grace grows
Its honey-like sweetness
unlike anything I smelled
Petals so delicate
they crumble at the slightest touch
A symbol of elegance in this dark world
dainty…
heavenly…
singing in the sunlight
like birds of paradise
Their colour so enchanting
a dusky azure tint
glittering like sapphires
Their twinkling bells so sweet
it’s hard not to stare in awe
Even so, it’s mysterious
enchants you in the most unique way
growing in the darkness
not yearning for attention
bowing its head in humility
living its life
as a bluebell
