A magical symbol of elegance- Free verse poetry of a flower

Hello, Readers! This week we have been learning about poetry! We learned about the different language features poets use in poetry. Then we wrote free verse poems. I chose a flower because the Festival of Flowers is coming soon, so I want to enter my poem at the festival. What flower am I writing about? Read the whole poem to find out!

On a mellow June day

A bud of grace grows

Its honey-like sweetness 

unlike anything I smelled

 

Petals so delicate

they crumble at the slightest touch

A symbol of elegance in this dark world

dainty…

heavenly…

singing in the sunlight

like birds of paradise

 

Their colour so enchanting

a dusky azure tint

glittering like sapphires

Their twinkling bells so sweet

it’s hard not to stare in awe

Even so, it’s mysterious

enchants you in the most unique way

growing in the darkness

not yearning for attention

bowing its head in humility

living its life

as a bluebell
