Rūma 1 Mathematicians!

Mauri ora e te whānau,

Over the past two weeks we’ve been learning about number bonds (that’s basic addition for us older folks lol). I kid you not, our tamariki in Rūma 1 are great MATHEMATICIANS!!

We used resources (our fingers, teddy bears, and also connective blocks) to show different representations for a total number. For example the total is 6 different representations for the number bonds would be 6 and/ + 0 (0+6), 5 and 1 (1+5) , 4+2 (2+4) , 3+3, all of these are representations of 6 within a number bond.

Tirohia ngā tamariki e kōrero ana mō ā rātou hononga nama.

Look at our tamariki explaining their number bonds.

I really enjoy listening to our tamariki talking about their learning and watching their confidence in explaining their learning develop.

Ka mau te wehi tamariki maa!

You all rock!!
