STEAM / Technology week 6

In steam, we have continued to look at our traditional soil plant & hydroponic plants. Especially on our X-tool laser cutter and engraver project.

We had different options of seed to plant, lettuce, flower, spring onion, and cabbage from what I can remember. Some of our soil started sprouting, some of ours are already seedling. We had to write ‘The Scientific Method’ in our folded A3 paper.

Observation: What do you notice about it? did anything make a difference?

Question: Read or look up what is already known.

Hypothesis: Predict which method is gonna work the best and why? Hydroponic or traditional planting?

Experiment: Test your idea with a fair test.

Analysis: Look at the data you’ve collected.

Conclusion: Decide if your idea was right or wrong, then share.

Honestly, planting it was easy. There are different kinds of soils: sand, silt, clay and loam. A fact for hydroponic planting, you have to use artificial light that’s in the temperature of the sun. I’m hoping to improve on my next blog.
