Dylan’s DDA Legend

Death Dying and the After Life

Recently in health class, we’ve been covering the unit of Death, Dying and the After Life (DDA). So far in this unit we’ve been able to cover these topics:

Hauora

Not directly connected to the unit DDA neither have we been learning new things about Hauora recently but we link everything we learn about to how it affects our Hauora. Hauora is a maori philosophy representing health and wellbeing. To achieve hauora you must have a strong Te Whare Tapa Wha. Te Whare Tapa Wha is a model of wellbeing including 4 walls and a foundation:

  1. Taha Tinana / Physical Wellbeing

The condition and health of your physical body.

Signs of a weak Taha Tinana

  • Constant Fatigue: Feeling drained, weak and lacking the energy to do everyday tasks.
  • Poor Sleep: Waking up tired and heavy from when you first wake up or dealing with conditions like insomnia.
  • Aches and Pain: Constantly having headaches, muscle cramps and CNS.
