- There was a Rugby game between the Wallabies rugby union team and the Tongan team ( 11 – 16 )
- The first European counter with Tonga was with Willem Schouten and Jacob Le Maire in 1616. Although James Cook stayed there 3 months and named it the Friendly Islands in 1773.
- The reason why Tonga wasn’t colonised it’s because of the fierce George Tupou.
