This week we are looking at career pathways, and it is my job to convince Whaea Lorraine that I am the best basketball player because Basketball Association (NBA) makes millions of dollars.
But I am not there for the money; I am there to play the game and win the game with some of my friends who would like to play with the Association (NBA), and I can be the one that wins for them. The money is not the thing that we are there for; we are there for the game and the win. We will win all the time if we have the best team that will not lose the game all the time. That is not my job; my job is to help the team win and to become the best team in the NBA. The money that we win all the time, that money will not be for me; it will be for my friends and my family

Why do I want to become a basketball player?

Basketball
Basketball is a thing that we do in school and at home. If there are some basketball players out there, we would like to play with all of you. Dr. James Naismith, a Canadian physical education instructor at the International YMCA Training School, invented it in December 1891.
Basketball is a great sport with fast action, high global popularity, and simple gear needs. Whether it is the absolute “best” depends on what you like, as opinions on Reddit are mixed compared to other huge sports like soccer or rugby.
This is all about me and basketball.

What does basketball mean to you?
This is what basketball means to me. Basketball is the thing that I do with my friend and my Mum and Dad. My best friend said to me, “Do you like to go and play basketball?” and I said, “No, I like to play soccer with my friend,” but I thought about it, and I would like to play basketball with them. Some of them play other games, like tag and rugby, but there are games I do not like because I am not good at playing all of these games. If my friends play other games, I will go and play with Room 1, 3 and 2. Those are the ones that I will go and play with, but basketball is the thing that I will play with them.

I’m the best basketball player, did you know that? I was the best basketball player and my dad was too, but some of his friends were the best ones. Then my auntie and uncle were the ones that taught me to play basketball; that is why I am the best on the basketball team. This is why it is my pathway.

Why did I choose this pathway?
Because it means a lot to me, my family and my best friend who comes to my games to play or to cheer me on and keep winning the games, or they can play with us and win the game with us
And that is not all I do in basketball. I am going to be in the NBA to make new friends there and to get some money for the people that need the money, and the people I mean the ones that are not in a home; they are at a place that their family kicked them out of. I mean people that need money and the people that really really need it. My mum and dad need the money when I join the NBA to win all of it, and I go bacnk to my mum and dad.
