Fraction, Decimal and percentage

Kia ora and welcome to my Maths blog.

Learning intention: We are learning to read write, compare and order percentages, fractions and decimals and convort them from one another.

Success Critteria: I can Identify and order fractions, and percentages, I can convert between equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages, I can solve problems using fractions percentages and decimal.

This week in Maths we have been learning about Fractoin, Decimal and Percentage we have been learning how to convort the three by turning the fraction into a decimal and then a percentage for example 1 over five is o.2  and is 20 percent that’s what we have been learning in the work book and the slides we have also had word problem questions for example “if Sally had 20 percent of the crackers how many crackers did she have there were 50 in the box?” I liked how easy it

was to understand most of the questions but some of them were difilcult.

In Room 9 for year 7 Maths Whaea Lorraine has created a new system using currency we get 10 dollars for attendence and 5 dollars for your workbut we also have taxes and we have a pencil fee for 2 dollars a week.             I think that this has really motivated some students into completing more work or showing up to school more.
