Mathematics – Percentage, fractions and decimals

This week in room 9 the year 7’s have been learning about percentages, fractions and decimals. We have been learning how to identify and order fractions as well as converting and simplifying them. One thing I learnt this week was an easy and simpler way to convert percentages and decimals. All you need to do to convert a decimal to a percentage is by moving the decimal point two times to the right and for the percentages to you do the opposite. Some of the things that I like about this week is that we have been earning money over the week. Each day is 10$ and each blog is 25$ we have been earning money because it helps us to learn how to add and subtract decimals. I usually use the vertical algorithm because in my opinion it is the easiest way. Currently I have approximately 112$ I am trying to get an extra 25$ with this blog.
