Kia ora, in my science class we have been learning about currents and magnets, today’s topic was specifically Static electricity and electric currents.
Static electricity and electric current are different, but the difference is what?
Static electricity is when electrons are transferred from one object to another and become stationary. If an object is holding static electricity, then it is negatively charged and will attract objects that are positively charged.
To experiment with static electricity we tried rubbing a balloon in someones hair to see if it would stick, it did. Below is a photo of a strand of hair being drawn to a balloon by static electricity.
