Last Wednesday the year 13s went to Whangarei safety N action. We started off with theory learning about the uses of the carabiner used for scaffolding. There are 3 different types of carabiner used to connect to each other to ensure extra safety one is a simple lock carabiner, the second is a double safety carabiner, and the last is the triple safety carabiner with the double safety carabiner being the most reliable for safety itself. Once we finished off all our theory we went and did some practical things using snap hooks to connect to scaffolding to walk around safely on top of scaffolding, used doubled scaffhold hooks to climb a ladder and using the same hooks to climb a roof safely.
