Electricty assesment

This is the end of term Assessment about Electricity and Circuits, I hope you enjoy it.

Electricity: A form of energy resulting from the movement of charged particles (usually electrons). It is the flow of electric charge.

Electrons: Subatomic particles that carry a negative electric charge. In most circuits, electricity is the flow of electrons through a Conductor

Current: The rate at which the electrical charge flows through a circuit, It is measured in Amps/Amperes (A). Think of it as the volume of water flowing through a pipe.

Voltage: The electrical potential difference between two points; it is the “pressure” that pushes electrons through a circuit. It is measured in  Volts (V). Think of it as the pressure of the water in the pipe

Series Circuit: A circuit where components are connected end to end in a loop. there is only one path for the current to flow. If one component fails, the whole circuit stops.

Parallel Circuit: A circuit where components are connected across the same two points, creating multiple paths for the current to flow if one component fails, the other continue to work

In the first diagram, It is a series circuit, Below the battery is connected and as there are no different branches for the electrons to flow keeping it all in one loop shared between the three lights each light bulb receives 3v This is because the battery is releasing a charge of 9V and a flow of 0.45 Amps, This is different in the Parellel Circuit As the battery releasing 16V because of the different branches each lightbulb receives the full 16 volts without having to share any volts with the other lightbulbs, The flow in the parellel circuit is 0.96 A
