Kōwhaiwhai
We learned about kōwhaiwhai patterns and their meanings. I drew a koru. Whaea Moana helped us learn the meaning behind it and she also helped us learn how to draw it.
Koru: means growth, new life/renewal. I had so much fun drawing with Whaea Moana! I love drawing kōwhaiwhai patterns so much!☆ How to make kōwhaiwhai
- Get a piece of cut foam and take a thick pencil not sharp and draw your kōwhaiwhai pattern.
- After you like how it looks, take your pencil and push it hard but not so hard that you’re going to break the foam a little light.
- Next get a piece of paper and some paint of choice. I picked dark brown and red.
- Then get something to put your paint on with a rolling brush. Next get your foam piece and take your rolling brush and roll paint on your foam and stick it to your paper and keep doing it and DONE you just made a kōwaiwhai pattern!
I love doing it in my free time!
