This week St Johns came to visit our school to teach us how to save a life. We learnt about DRSAB which stands for;
Danger
Response
Send for Help
Airway
Breathing
We learnt this by Sue showing us how to do it with a classmate. Then, we buddied up and we each had a turn at being the hero and the unconscious person.
Next, we got put into groups of 3 or 4 and each group got a card with an injury and a scenario. The injuries were broken bones, burns, choking and asthma. One person from our group picked what items they thought they needed to treat the injury. Then we read the treatment on the card then we picked a second person to change or add if we needed anything else. Then we picked the third person who traded the cards for the objects to be the patient being treated.
