Technology Week 1 | DVC

Kia ora,

Yesterday in tech DVC ( Design and Visual Communication ) , we had to learn what rendering is and what it means and sharing our art with each other.

Firstly, we looked at what rendering means although it has several distinct meanings based on the context and we are on culinary art.

Rendering in art is the process of adding shade, light, shadow, texture, and color to a flat or unrefined sketch to make it look three-dimensional, realistic, or polished. There are two types art and rendering.

Traditional: in traditional art, rendering means using shading, blending, line weight, texture, and color to build depth, volume, and the illusion of a three-dimensional form. It is the process of taking a basic sketch or outline and building up 3D form, volume, light, shadow and texture using manual media like paint, charcoal, graphite, or ink.

Digital: Digital rendering art is the process of taking a rough sketch or basic 3D model and turning it into a polished, finished image by adding light, shadow, color and texture.

And no, digital and traditional art are not the same thing when it comes to rendering, even though both share the same core artistic goals of building form, light and texture.

Though I forgot what shapes we drew since there was 8-9 of it, it was just pretty much rectangles and squares ( most ) .
