My Inspiring person is.. Sir Edmund Hillary! Because he climbed the Mount Everast! He also spent his money on buildings for the community (he lived near) He built reasonable buildings like for example; Schools, Hospitals, clinics, pre-schools, and way more! so I decided that as my Inspiring person I will write about Edmund Hillary! My writing:
Sir Edmund Hillary was known as one of the New Zealand’s most remarkable and inspiring figures. He was famous for his great mountaineering skills. Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Mount Everest with one of his best friends, whose name was Tenzing Norgay. They used tools like an ice axe to climb up the steep mountain. Edmund Hillary’s first big dream was simple. He wanted to have an exciting, adventurous life with different types of challenges to overcome so he could build himself up to be strong and fit with lots of different survival, mountaineering and climbing skills. Sir Edmund Hillary was born in Auckland on the 20th of July, 1919. When he was younger, he discovered that he had a passion for tramping and mountain climbing. This time was during high school, so he trained his mountaineering skills in the Southern Alps.
At Southern Alps is where he met one of his lifelong friends, George Lowe. He would also be a part of the successful Everest Expedition. Both Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay were very strong, fit, highly skilled mountaineers, and they were also quite competitive. They also both had the same goal; they dreamt of climbing the very top of Mount Everest. Both Ed and Tenzing showed great leadership. In the competition they both agreed that they reached the top of the summit together. After the win that they achieved together Tenzing Norgay chose that he was going to make his very own birthday the day that he reached the top. “It is not the Mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” They said together.
