Tamatoa ( One Warriors Sponsorship )

Greetings & Salutations viewers, today in this blog I will be talking about my experience in Tamatoa ( One Warriors Sponsorship ) So come with me on this rugby league journey full of skills, effort and energy!

First and foremost, our first session was during maths, and we had to prepare in separate lines. We didn’t take this opportunity for granted and our attitudes and behaviour were on point. Our learning intention was effort and energy, and we did bring the effort, 5/10 i’d say, but towards the end it was definitely a 10/10. At first glance, we were in a circle, and we had a brief conversation on the rules, the people, and the games. My main focus was effort and energy, so after the circle moment we spread out into separate teams. We started with a game called ” Shadow Box Battles ” for those who don’t know what that game is about, its in summary, where you play in consecutive teams, and start off with a game of paper, scissors, rock. And afterwards, you had to play a game of Shadow Box. In the end, I didn’t have any wins, but I tried and that was all that mattered.

Secondly, our instructors ” Casey ” ” Zavier ” and another instructor that I didn’t quite get his name. So then after that we did another game of stealing the ball from others, and my partner was ” Chris ” and another instructor. The rounds were quite easy and I won everytime, really proud of myself for that one. Then my stomach started to grumble, it felt like a global storm was forming. But i fought through it, and won the battle of stomach gurgles. Then after the battles of stealing rugby balls, we separated into two even teams, and played a game called ” Stacey Waka ” a similar game to tennis where you have two goalkeepers that guards the ball to avoid the other surrounding people to catch it. This activity was really fun, and my favourite out of every other activity, because it was energy-filling and enthusiastic within every individual that played.

Another activity that we played was like Stacey Waka, but we had to pass the ball and our aim was so that the ball could touch the grass, in order to get points. My passing skills were quite good due to past sessions of constant rugby union training. And so the game lasted 30 to 40 minutes, a perfect ending to the session. Overall we came back into a circle and did a debrief of many activities that we played and a rating from 1-10 of our energy from the start to the end. I am grateful that the Tamatoa company is able to come to our school and give us this wonderful opportunity that not many school could have. Thank you for reading my blog, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
