1. What mistakes were made on this trip?
There were multiple mistakes made on this trip. One of them was that he obviously did not stay on track, this caused him to get lost in the beech forest. Another one was that he went alone, this meant that he was the only person that had an option on where he actually was.
2. What information did everyone on the trip need before they started out
I personally believe that they got told that they would need to stay on the track/route or else they could get lost, and also they would need to behave and listen to each other ,they would have also needed to have the right gear before they went on the track, they would need safety tools like a first aid kit, food and water, and a torch just incase something might happen.
3. What do you think happened to Elon?
I personally believe that Elon went out to look for his top right before dusk and simply got lost in the beech forest. It soon became dark and Elon was so disoriented that he continued on his journey. This may have been followed by his falling down this bank and causing major injuries that would’ve needed to be treated asap.
4. Why do you think people were unable to locate him earlier?
I believe that people weren’t able to locate him earlier because as Larry Charles stated “I was checking all the log jams, some that I hadn’t been able to check earlier.” Earlier in the text he said that the river had been high the night that Elon had gone missing.
