Hi bloggers… let me tell you what I did when I didnt go to camp. We played fun math games like num 123 and dots and boxes. On Thursday we had this super cool competition we were in groups of 3, our group name was The Boys. We made a 10 second ping pong track. The ping has to go exactly 10 seconds. It was really fun. The thing I most enjoyed was working together and working with other people. We even did minecraft where we built an eco house. An eco house is  made out of nature like a pumpkin roof a farm or maybe a solar panel perhaps.

My eco house was really cool it had a pumpkin roof a farm and also a underground storage room  with a nature thrown. It was super cool. In our ping pong ball challenge we had averges our avrege was 8.73 we were second place. Let me tell you how we made our ping pong ball track. First we connected our wooden blocks with tape so it would be steady inuff. Then we put kebab sticks to connect it we tan built an platform so the ball would land propaly. One day the year 5 and 6 went to camp. When we were going we went in vans and a bus and the first place we went to was a park and we walked there. Then we went to our cabins and unpacked our stuff. My cabin people were Romeo, Chantz,  Stellan and me.

Kia Ora bloggers, hello and welcome to my blog post about the year 5 and 6 camp trip. In this blog I will tell you about my camp experience day 1.

On day 1 I got to school as usual with my suitcase and my bag. I saw the bus it was HUGE! we all lined up at the canopy and we waited a while. After half an hour we finally we put our suitcase at the bottom of the bus. when we got on the bus it was so comfy, we put our bags at the top of the bus like an airplane. I sat down at the very back of the bus it was so comfy I was about to fall asleep. it was a 2-3 hour drive to Waipu Cove we arrived at around 10 Am. We ate some lunch and we saw the beautiful waves crashing on the sand. After an hour we left and it was a 2-3 hour drive to Kerikeri where we also did the bush walk. When we arrived we saw a huge forest. We walked in and it was a bit slippery from the rain. I walked a lot and my feet started to hurt but we saw the oldest stone house in New Zealand it was also a shop. We stayed at Kerikeri for around 2 hours, we went to Rainbow Falls after that we stayed for around 30 minutes.  Finally we went to the camp site the dorms had 2 bunk beds and a queen size bed and that’s the end of day 1. Last week it was time for camp but only the year 5’s and 6’s get to go to camp. I was stuck at school because I was a year 4. I thought it was going to be boring. But to my surprise we were learning a game every day. On the first day we learned the game head shoulder knees and cone. All you do is listen to the person that’s saying head shoulder knees and cone. But when they say cone you grab the cone as fast as you can. I was kind of slow at getting the cone but it was fun.

The second day we played free the prisoners. you have a dice and some jelly beans you write on something the numbers 1 to 5 and you roll the dice. What ever the dice lands on you have to put a jelly beans.

The next day we learned the game greedy pig. Our teacher put a big dice on the tv and he would flip it and it would  land on a number. We had lines on our Maths book and we could stand or sit if you sat down you get to keep the amount the dice lands on. but if it lands on one and your still standing you loose all your points that round.

Kia ora. On Wednesday while some of my classmates went to camp, the teacher read a book with the class. The book was about a kid making a eco house, and that was when the teacher had an idea to make an eco house in minecraft. So we went to build an amazing eco house on minecraft. It was very fun designing and building the house. I built the house on a high mountain. So the first thing I did was clear some blocks so I had space to build the house and then designed a balcony so I could look at the beautiful view of the mountains. Then I made the remaining things i had the add in like “lights,bed,bookshelf,flooring,carpet,crafting table,walls and chest but i needed to make the house look more eco so i put, trees,beehive,farm,didnt use to much wood and`recycling bin. so i am going to show you some screenshots.

when the year 5 and 6 were gone we did a built a eco house minecraft  it was amazing but first I had a bad start I had to start all over like one thousand times. But the nixed house I made was amazing but I accidentally  got my secret agent so i made him a garden. I bet he loved it.

Hello my name is Charlie I’m going to go through all the days at school camp.

We arrived at school at 7:15 it was raining alert and we left at 8:00. when I left I was really nervous and scared .

First we went to Kerikeri to stop at a beautiful beach and a Rainbow Falls three different viewing spots the waterfall is 27 m long. On the second day we went to Waitangi Treaty grounds we went into marae and they sing a song for us so we song back we song back to say thank you.on the third day we went to Mania to explore the  gods then we got to see a 4d show of Cooper the long discover and how he came to New Zealand in his big waka. On day 4 we went to Urupukapuka Island  and we went on a massive ferry it was 40 minutes we went for a massive walk and then we went canoe we had lots of fun  and we saw lots of starfish on day 5 we went to the hundertwasser museum and it was a work it was really cool and there was a garden on top of the roof . We went home I was really excited to see my family and sleep in my own bed. Goodbye

Hello, and welcome back to my blog.

Today I am going to share with you our Waikowhai School Camp. We arrived at 7:00 to 7:45  an at around 8:00 we left to go on a Pavlovich Coachlines Bus. We had our own cabins and they were like about four or five people in our cabin group. Everybody loves and like the cabins because it was so tidy but then they turned really messy really quick. Our one was clean of course.

We drove for 2 hours and then another 2 hours and then 1 hour 50m. I loved going to the bus because it was really comfy but there were also too vans that we had to take turns to go.

My favourite part was day three because we went to the sand dunes and we also went to Manea experience footprints of Kupe.  My friend Charlie and me  got the furthest sandboarding score.

We took a ferry to go to the sand dunes in Paihia. The sand dunes were really cool and it was really sandy and me and Charlie made a grave for a dead Tree.

Then we went to Manea experience footprints of Kupe and we got to see different wooden carved statues and it was really cool to see how people carved them. After that we go to see a 4D show of Kupe how he came to New Zealand in his Waka. We also got to swim and play games.

On day 5 we also went to the Hundertwasser Museum and it was a like a real artwork itself. I was really happy to see my Mum again and I couldn’t wait to be home. We also went swimming and me and my friends found a big rock pool with starfish and other sea creatures.

When Hauraki and Waitemata went to camp we felt lonely but then this scientist named Mr Riceman was our teacher for the whole week dun dun DUNNN  but he used to be a scientist. He’s not scary like other scientists He’s a cool gentleman .

On the first day we got a piece of paper and looked at all sorts of materials for our ten second ping pong ball.

I decide to use pieces of paper but on the next day we saw all types of materials PICKED OUT FROM MY TEACHER but they were COOL materials we got four strands  of  one meter tape that was enough.

we got to pick out our group name I decided to pick WE ARE THE BEST Rasina and Lily agreed and that name made us win. I felt Nervous at first but when i found out I felt so happy. Now we are moving to our Eco houses.

On Wednesday we got to build our own eco friendly house it was so cool I thought I was better then everybody until I saw Peters, it was incredible . My jaw dropped when I saw it but anyway it took me two weeks to finally finish my eco friendly house  but it looked amazing that’s what I say .

I used Pink and purple blocks and I used some finshing touches.

AND BOOM it was finished.

On day three we woke up and got ready for my favourite thing on camp, sand boarding. The bus was long but once we got there we realised that the sand dunes were huge. The boat driver told us how to sand board then we climbed up the sand dunes. At first I was kind of nerous because of how far down it was but then I went down and it was awesome! And then I got the hang of going down the sand dunes then i decided to have a swim and make holes to catch water and sit in them. then we had to go to the maunia experince and learned about the  gods and we watch the life of kupe in a 4D theater.

Hello. Last, last week the year 5/6 went to camp. We had to wake up really early in the morning, when we got to school we all met up under the canopy to wait for the other people to come. when they finally came we put our bags and suitcase into the bus or into the two vans. Our red group went to the van. The first destination was Waipu beach it was a long car ride there. But when we got there it was raining and it was windy, We had our morning tea first then we walked along the beach but sadly we couldn’t go in the water. when we finished we got back but we went to the bus. We drove all the way to our campgrounds. It was a 2 hour drive I slept for a little then and we finally got to the camp grounds. we all got our cabin key and put our suitcase and backpacks in our room. Then we all met in the kitchen for dinner we had fish and chips for our dinner and it was very good. Finally we got changed into our PJ’s we didn’t take a shower because we were all tired. Then we said goodnight and turn off the lights and went to sleep.

My favorite day was day 3 which we took a 2 hour drive to the sand dunes and the maori carving museum. First we got changed into our swimming togs and to a jet boat to the sand dunes. We got there really fast and took a board and went boogie boarding on the sand. When we finished we took the jet boat back and got changed back into our cloths. We met our tour person and she is very nice and took us through the carvings my favourite one is kupe. My favourite here was the 4d movie about kupe and his adventures. After that we went home and had mac and cheese for dinner and took a shower and changed and went to bed.

Have you ever written a online news article?

On Tuesday in Cyber smart our teacher showed us what things we need to check online to see if the news is fake or not. So we made our own news article  about camp or you didn’t went to camp a news article about what we did at school that week.  We had to include a URL, sponsored content,  advertisements (Ads), comments, byline, title and an image.

It is a lot of things! But they were pretty easy to do since our teacher made us this document that had all the boxes for these things for us to fill out.

While the year 5 and 6 were at camp the year 4 played tons of games through the week. My least favorite was greedy pig. Basically you would grab a book and draw five columns. Then make some small boxes next to the columns and on top of the small boxes write score. Get a dice and roll it if you get 5 you get five points or you can roll for more points. But if you roll a one your score is zero you need a few people to play with. At the end you add up all your points and the person with the most points wins.  Other games we played was release the prisoners basically you write  one two three four five spaced apart. Then you circle them and do that again below then get ten counters get a dice and if get a four you get you cover the number four with a counter if you cover a one you cover one. Then you have to steal your little brother or sister while he or she is planning how to get you in trouble. And play it with them so they like you and they  won’t get you In trouble any time soon until you are to busy and you won’t play with them. we played more games but some of the games are in blog posts before this like nim one two more head shoulders knees and cone. We did a really cool marble run that you should definitely check that out. this is what it looks like pretty cool right.

When the year 5 and 6 went on camp so manukau took over the school because we were the only seniors.

We were also excited because Mr Riceman told us that we were doing a ping pong ball challenge.

And when I mean ping pong ball challenge I mean we had to make A ping pong ball race track and all the things we used was foam and Popsicle sticks , Paper and of course sella tape.

And something else we got to do was do math games and they were so fun and I don’t know which one is better. But honestly I think they all are and if you were here I’m pretty sure you will agree with me.

Something that I wish was to do this again because it was the funnest week of my life but I did miss my friends.

We also got to build our own Eco houses which means like a house that looks after the environment and I forgot to tell you guys that we did it on minecraft.  Why I’m exited is because I really love doing minecraft.

But the better part was when the year 5 and 6 came back and I really missed my teacher Ms Kneller because she went with them too.

I also got to do hauraki’s jobs and they were so amazing but the best one was the sports room because I could play inside of it and my best friend Zendaya got to do it with me and my other friends.

Until the year 5 and 6 come back and ruin the day but after all they have to come back anyway!

Last week we  made an Eco house . if you don’t know what an Eco house  is our explain. An  Eco house is basically and nature house  you have to think lots.we made it on mind craft it was really cool .next time I think I’ll make my house bigger and longer . We had to plan it before on paper.

During week 4 of term 4 the year 5’s and 6’s went on a school camp for five days in the bay of islands. Wednesday was my favourite day because Monday and Tuesday were really wet. But Wednesday was dry like a Summers day is supposed to be.

The day started when we woke up, had breakfast, packed our lunch and gear, and got on the bus or van. Me and my day group which was Pink were in the black van. It was like an hour and a half drive but I made it,

partly because I had Harlem to talk to, he’s a really nice guy. Once we arrived at Opononi we changed into our togs and the Manea experience building. Blue A and Pink (my group) walked down to the wharf, we then boarded a boat which took us across the Hokiangna harbour to the sand dunes. Once we arrived we grabbed a board and stepped down the bow ladder, yes the bow turned into a ladder! We then had one or two hours of fun sandboarding. The first time you do it your really scared because you can’t see the bottom, but it’s just a slope. And once you’ve done it once, it’s really fun! So once we were done we waited for the boat to arrive and it did with some other groups. But… while we were sandboarding the tide slowly rose, they didn’t take offf their shoes so they had to jump. But we were fine because we were barefoot. We hopped on the boat and went back to Manea, we got changed, had a play in the lawn and then we did the experience.

Sandboarding was the funnest thing we did at the Waikohai bay of islands camp 2023. I absolutely loved it.

yesterday we did a ping pong challenge in groups of three we had a lot of time to build our things and Mr Riceman gave our group A LOT of tape so we can use it to build and make our things and he also gave us extra time to build so we can see how many second does it take to make it get to the end some of our ping pong balls didn’t get to the end and fall of but some other team ping pond ball went as it was planed as it was going and some of the groups. Some of the groups got higher then my group our group and my group got a bit messed up so we moved to another table. And my group members took most of the in chairs  in Te Waka ako and used it to make are ping pong run but there was not that much time so we rush making our thing and we did not finish it so we tided the room up and my and the green room was first. The first group was up they made a tunnel going down but when it hit the bottom it bounced off the ground and went out of the track the four people there tried and failed the ball bounced off and then it was Mr rice man tried and failed it bounced OFF AGAIN then it was the second group and it started and three of the of the people did make it but Mr rice man and a group member it got stuck in the tunnel. then the third group was up and it came as it was planned the group had no problems in its ping pong run then it was the fourth group up the ping pong ball and it did not go well and it failed. then it was the fifth group up and it was going well and then it was my group it was the first one and it failed it did not go very well my group members failed but it ok then it was the final group it was find and it went well for them and a lot of people got more seconds then my group did and it was A LOT.

Yesterday we did a super STEM Challenge  Mr Riceman  our  Teacher  had this cool  Idea so here  what happen  so he separated us into trios. in my group their was Setayesh, Huzaifa and me Alize .we got some materials we got was some news paper 4 pieces of it. Then we had thick glossary paper 1 pieces of  some black foam and 5 kebab sticks 5 straws 4 Popsicle sticks and  1 ping pong ball and some bits and blobs of  tape. why we did it it was because we don,t do that much Science. Next Time I  would change it by making a big ramp Because my ping pong  ball did not have enough boost.but it will be bad Cause it will not be under ten seconds so no bad idea but I can blow with my straw.  here are some pics:

Yesterday we did the ten second ping pong ball challenge, we worked in groups of three people to share ideas and help work together and have fun making stuff. The best part was we got to choose our group and we had so much fun, here are some stuff we used for our challenge. We used foam, 2 Pieces of paper, 1 ping pong ball, lot’s of tape, Kebab stick, ice block stick and news paper.

My group was Theo and Olie, they were really helpful and funny, and we had lots of fun making them. We each had a job in the group Olie was the leader and telling us what to do, Theo was the tape guy and the assistant and I was foam girl . Mr Riceman  thought of doing it for us and we agreed to do it!

When time was up we shared our creation and tested it. Olie went first and got a good score, Theo but was a little short. We where so scared but when I went somehow and I got eight seconds and that made us first place.

And that is our 10 second ping pong ball challenge.
