Bula Vinaka

On Tuesday  we  read  this book about a wharenui  it is a place that is where all the people will go to have a meeting and do some speeches. you’re not allowed to have food or drinks inside the room. And no shoes are allowed inside you have to leave them outside.there are a lot in New Zealand all around New Zealand. It takes 10 to 15 to years to make one. they didn’t use any power tools.  you can sleep in it too. There are all the thing there like outside of the wharenui  there is a bench called a paepae .

10 second ping pong ball timer

Hi bloggers,

Yesterday we toook part in a 10 second ping pong ball cahllenge let me tell you what we did. First we were in groups of 3 we worked together as a team, we were all given the same materials to build a 10 second ping pong ball track. We were given a news paper ice block sticks kebab sticks tape and paper and straws. First we connected the wooden blocks with tape so it can get stable. Next we conected the kebeb sticks so the ping pong ball would go. Then we sticked the straws  together so there would be more support for our track. We sticked the ice blocks to make a tunnel then we used the paper to make a tunnel we sticked it with tape to be steady. We had 50 miniute timer. We then timered are ping pong  times both were 9 seconds but the third try we got 10.5 seconds we got happy. Then after the final toches we had a competion are group was called the boys. After some while it was our turn first I rolled the ping pong ball then surya did then Amir did and then Mr Riceman did it and our final average was 8.7925 close to 10 seconds and guess what we were 2nd place 1st place was rasina’s group 9.08 seconds so they were the closet to 10 seconds . To be honest I would rather play head shoulders nees and toes than I would spend 50 minutes building. But still it was a lot of fun building and working together. Hope you enjoyed my blog post bye bye.

Kind regards, by Krish.

Ten seconds ping pong ball timer

Hey bloggers

Yesterday all of us used  a bunch of materials given by Mr Riceman like tape train tracks ice block sticks. We used all of it to make a ten second timer for a ping pong ball challenge we all had 3 people in a group and our group name was chair a ding dong because the whole point was chairs. But sadly we lost and a group called the puppy’s won and second were the boys. it was pretty fun building the tracks  and because groups used all there tape and we didn’t they kept saying please can we have some we will trade you for some news paper. I was building it with some of my friends like Peter you should go check out his blog later or Francis we ran out of time so we were one of the last.  My friends used like 15 minutes just goofing around and we all had 50 minutes. For our ending we used a trash can for when the ball falls in I was gathering a lot of chairs from different class rooms I even stole the teachers chair. A lot of  the groups said we were crazy because we were getting creative with our ping pong  ball challenge.  It was really fun doing it but I didn’t like how we had a certain amount of materiel’s because we were running out. So if we had a little more materiel’s that would be could because then we would of probably finished by the time.  It was my first time doing something like that but I would prefer do a little game like head shoulders knees and cone I would rather play something like that. Because I don’t want to be spending  50 minutes just building a marble run. So I would rather play head shoulders knees and cone or rock paper scissors battle that would probably be better than building a marble run I didn’t really enjoy it to be honest. Because I came second last in the marble run and I think games are competitive to me but I don’t think it will be to.     kind regards Freddie

The amazing ten second ping pong ball Timer

Faka lofa lahi atu everyone,

On Thursday the  2nd of November everyone in  Manukau made a ten second ping pong ball race track to see who’s team is the closest to 10 seconds.

Well how this all started was on Wednesday the 1st of November our teacher  Mr Riceman  had an idea for us to build a 10 second ping pong ball race track to see who’s team was the closest to 10 second.

And I can’t forget it was Me, Zendaya and Rasina team that was the closest to ten second. Our average number was 9.43 but we didn’t get anything for our win.

We only got hie fives from everyone and cheering.

Well the materials that we used were black foam, Paper, Kebab sticks, straws, blocks, pop-sickle sticks, tape and I think that was all we used.

Well and how I felt about it was amazing because when we were making it we all got to do different activities and they were so fun to do also when we My team won and then I actually never new that our group was going to win but yeah we did. And it also felt like the best day of my life.

Ready, Set Go!

Morena Bloggers!

Have you ever done a marble run?

On Thursday we had a S.T.E.M challenge. S science, T technology, E engineering M mathematics. We had 50 minutes  to use the materials we are given materials which were the same in all groups, to create a track that a ping pong ball will go through but the catch was it had to be as close as it can be to 10 seconds. The materials were: 3 ice block sticks, 4 newspapers, 5 kebab sticks, 5 straws , 1 piece of black foam, 3 sheets of thick glossy white paper, Small pieces of blocks and one 4 meter tape. We got to choose our groups. There were 7 groups with three in each of them. My group was Alize, Setayesh and myself. Our group’s name was The Waikowhai Stars.

Our average amount was 5.4425.  Every person in the group had 1 turn putting the ping pong ball through the track and then our teacher Mr Riceman had a turn in every group. Then we divided the numbers and see the average. It might sound easy but its not. it was so tricky but in the end we learnt a lot.

Kia ora bloggers,

Today is THE LAST Sunday before school! And I’m going to tell you about my trip to wellington. Well the first we flew to Wellington airport then we had to go to our hotel ”Rydges”.We is my grandmother, Mai, and my cousin Isabel, Izzy.  After getting to the hotel, we sat down by the breakfast buffet and Izzy and I had a glass of coke. Then we set off on our adventure to Te Papa (a Museum).  At Te Papa we first went to the war section and there where some sad giant lifelike models of people from the war. The first one we sore was one with a man holding a gun trying to shout, there where lots of other sad ones like this one of a woman reading a message and crying because her husband had fort and died. All of them were VERY sad. When we where all done looking at the stuff at Te Papa we made our way to Master Kong, an Asian restaurant, for lunch. It was all very delicious!
We finished that day with swims at the pool. Stay tuned for my next blog where I talk about the real reason for going to Wellington. The WOW show.

My Walk Around My Community! Spring Learning Journey

Hi Bloggers,

It was the holidays and I got bored so I had another look at Spring Learning Journey and I saw this activity  where you have to go for a little walk around your community and write what you see, hear and smell and try adding 3 things under See, smell and hear.

And so I took out my scooter and off I went.

I saw the beautiful flowers and this big bush of green and purplish leaves which was so beautiful! One more thing I saw was rubbish on the ground which I didn’t like. I heard some insects and also birds chirping in the trees. There one more thing I heard which was people talking in houses. What I smelt was this disgusting smell from all the rubbish and some yuck smells from the dirty water on the ground. But the smell of the flowers was amazing!

Why don’t yoiu go on a walk in your community and list what hear, smell and see.
