Math – Division/

Kia Ora

This week we have been studying about division methods.

We learned different types of ways to do division methods.

We had to pay close attention to our multiples to find the answers to the questions.

Like three divided by ninety – six.

You solve it like this:

How many threes are in ninety?

Thirty, How many threes are in six?

Two, three plus two equals thirty – two.

The answer is thirty – two.

Our teacher made a table with different multiples.

Here is the tables:

Do you notice the missing multiples?

I hope you learn multiples from this post.

I hope you enjoy math.

Bye bye readers, see you soon.

PHOM & PAT Practice!

Hello readers! This first week of the term has been one of the most interesting for me; as we had to learn Auto biography and the main topic about this blog, Reading topics!

Me and my class began to learn about the word PHOM which is about prefixes and suffixes. We started with prefixes which was when you put a group of letters at the start of a word, which changes the word and its whole meaning. For example, the word change means to make or become different, or to exchange one thing for another as it functions as both a verb and a noun in English; but if you and the group of letters (which is ex) to it   you’d get the new word exchange which means the act of giving something to someone and receiving something of similar value in return!

Also this week we’ve been practising on our upcoming PAT’s and this is basically a test for students at school to see how their learning had improved to let them know what they could work on to improve and get higher for their next test. It is also used to show  the teacher what’s easier and harder for you. But this week we’ve been practising from this AI site our teacher had generated. It gives us a story or an explanation about something and we have to answer questions about vocab, comprehension, etc and currently I have 100% out of all of the stories I had read so far which means I have gotten every single question correct.

So this is what I’ve been learning in reading for this entire week so see you’s in the next blog!

Kind regards,

Kasaina F.

My Autobiography-Week one

My Autobiography

Kia ora reader this is my autobiography and if you don’t know what a autobiography is, is a story about yourself
This Is Me: The Impact I Can Make

Who I Am

My name is Bella-Rayne. I was born on December 13th. I have 6 siblings, three sisters and three brothers and my favorite color is dark red. My favorite song is Treat you Better-Shawn Mendes and I am a year 8 attending Edmund Hillary School and my cats name is Simba

What Matters to Me

Maze Runner is what matters to me, because it is my favorite movies to watch there’s three different movies for Maze Runner, The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials,The Death Cure. My favorite one is Death Cure. The first movie is about being trapped in the middle of a giant maze trying to survive and escape. The second one is about walking through the scorch running from cranks infected by the flare trying to find the right arm.the last one is about trying to rescue Minho from WICKED and save Newt who has the flare and getting rid of WICKED and make it to the safe haven.

It matters to me because it’s my comfort show because the bloopers from maze runner always make me laugh and I just think they’re the best cast because they all still talk to each other and have an active group chat they still talk in and I just love the actors because they’re funny and friendly.

My Strengths

One of my strengths is that I make my friends laugh sometimes without meaning to, because sometimes I say random things or do random things that make them laugh sometimes.

One of my strengths is that I’m supportive, because whenever my friends are winning or playing a gameI always cheer them on even when they lose.

My Impact

This term I would like to, improve my understanding in mathematics so I can improve my grade in math for my end of year report and so I can also understand it when I go to highschool.

This term I would like to help by being supportive and helping them finish their work or win in a game by cheering them on where they almost finished their work or just starting. Also by cheering them on when they are winning a game, losing a game or when they are just starting the game and just support their team no matter what.

Writing/An Inspiring Member of Our School Community.

Kia Ora. to all readers and bloggers.

Year sixes for writing has been writing about An Inspiring Member of Our School Community. It is about an inspiring person in our school. And An Inspiring Member of Our School Community that I know is Jess. We have been writing about the person that inspires us. And I am writing about Jess.

Here is the Writing I did.

An Inspiring Member of Our School Community.

In my educational institution, I gain knowledge from an educator who motivates me; her given name is Jess. She has blond hair and also continually keeps her hair tied back, never out, only in class, however. She inspires us students because she is kind-hearted as well as consistently nice. She additionally takes pleasure in drawingt and is good at it.

One of the things I appreciate and admire about Jess is that she encourages us students with our scholastic work and how to do it. She is constantly at school with a smile, willing to teach us along with helping us learn what we need to know. She is at all times helpful as well as a really good problem solver. Did I say that she likes painting? Well, every time we work with Jess, we do designs along with crafts or just sketching, which is similarly something I as well like to do.

She does entertaining things with my class; sometimes we do class games together. If you have not encountered her, then when you do see her, you will think, “Why have I not come across you a long time ago?” I think she might be the most amazing instructor you have at any time had in your lifetime. Therefore, I hope you realise that she is a great professor to you because she is to me.

In reality, Jess is generous as well, just in case you want to know. Maybe once you are introduced to her you will realise that she is a good teacher, and you will enjoy artistic activities with her equally well.

What I have been learning in math. K.F.O

Hello!

Today I am going to write about K.F.O.                                                                                                                                          K.F.O is like K.F.C but K. means what we know and F means what we can find, also O means operations. Operations means like (x,+,-,÷). Like for example I had 15. I take some away so that I have the same amount as 8 + 4. How many do I take away?

Number sentence: 15-3=8+4

Left side of the = sign: 15-3

Right side of the = sign:8+4

       Sir Edmund Hillary

                             Sir Edmund Hillary

Sir Edmund Hillary was born in Auckland, New Zealand, on July 20, 1919. $5 banknote to honor his iconic achievements as a mountaineer, explorer, most notably becoming the first confirmed person

(along with Tenzing Norgay) to summit Mount Everest in 1953. At the time, this made him the first living person outside of a head of state to appear on New Zealand currency.  worked as a beekeeper and served as a navigator in the Royal New Zealand Air Force

Yes, Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay were the first people confirmed to reach the summit of Mount Everest, which they accomplished on May 29, 1953. Sir Edmund Hillary shook hands and hugged his climbing partner, Tenzing Norgay.

Mount Everest is located on the international border between Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, sitting directly on the peak’s summit.Sir Edmund Hillary died on January 11, 2008, at the age of 88 at Auckland City Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.

Hillary photographed Tenzing Norgay posing with his ice-axe holding the flags of the United Nations, Great Britain, Nepal, and India (Tenzing did not know how to operate the camera, so there is no individual photo of Hillary on the summit). They buried a small cross and some chocolates/food offerings in the snow as a gesture of thanks. Hillary glanced around the ridge to see if there was any sign that George Mallory and Andrew Irvine had made it to the top during their ill-fated 1924 expedition (he found none).“Well, we knocked the bastard off.”

DBC Art

DBC Art

Kia ora, Reader

In art, we designed and decorated custom artwork directly on garden spades, combining physical crafting with visual art. We also thoroughly explored pencil techniques by experimenting with lead hardness levels—using lighter 2H pencils for precise line work and initial sketches,

and softer 6B pencils for rich, dark shadows. For shading methods, we practiced cross-hatching by layering intersecting lines to build texture, stippling by applying tiny dots to control light gradients, and smooth blending using tortillons to create soft transitions and realistic depth. We had a miss, van on Monday afternoon. That’s so fun

This is a e.g of pencils.

Should Year 7 and 8 students have one afternoon each week dedicated to learning practical life skills?

Some people believe students should learn skills such as cooking, budgeting, first aid, gardening and basic repairs at school. Others believe this time should be spent on subjects such as reading, writing, mathematics and science.

Write a persuasive piece explaining whether you think Year 7 and 8 students should or should not have a weekly life-skills afternoon.

Clearly state your opinion and support it with convincing reasons, examples and evidence. Aim to persuade your reader to agree with your point of view.

-Yes schools should have life skills afternoon because we can learn new sports like basketball netball  and there are other sport, that we can do as a class but in some class they  do not like sport that why we are here for we can make them like some of the sport but other class like to do sport like me and my friend we like to play basketball and some other sport that we like to do in the week and in the school Sport is my thing to do with friend and family my best sport is basketball because you can make new friends and you can go to basketballs game are the best but life skills like sport and doing somethings that we can do as a class it is like
